Preparation Guide
What To Expect At An RZF Images Headshot Session:
My goal is for you to be comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera to get the best images you’ve ever had.
Clothing
When you first arrive, we’ll look through the different shirts, jackets/tops you brought. I suggest bringing at least 5 to 10 different outfits to shoot in besides what you wear to my studio space. Some things we may layer, like jackets or sweaters, or (for men) change up ties as well as use different color shirts. We’ll review the outfits and get in front of my studio setup. Remember, bring casual and business looks with you.
Please focus on items you love to wear. If you love it, bring it! Concentrate on solid and bold colors as well as neutral colors. Please try to stay away from apparel with patterns as we want the focus to be on you and not your apparel.
Jewelry
For women, I recommend shooting without jewelry so again—the focus is on you and not what you’re wearing. I also recommend using my makeup artist for women, but that is your option.
Coaching
I use an advanced LED constant light setup (“always on”), which are rather bright at first, and I’ll give you a couple minutes to let your eyes adjust. I’ll take a few test shots and then we’ll go over a few posing techniques to get you looking your best in your images.
As we get into our session I’ll be providing coaching and direction throughout. My coaching and direction are designed to capture and convey your personality authentically so you look confident, professional and approachable in your images.
No Stress
My #1 priority is that we get results that you are completely happy with. Expressions tend to get better as the session progresses so towards the end is where we can expect to see the most fantastic looks coming through. Remember, there are no time limits or outfit change limits to my sessions, which eliminates the stress of “getting it right” in a short time period.
This is meant to be a truly collaborative effort. I shoot tethered to my laptop. That way we’ll be able review images on a large screen during the session and I want you to be honest with me about what you love and anything you don't.
Image Review
Once we feel like we have enough images, we’ll review the images on my large screen TV monitor and make selections of the images you want to purchase. Then I’ll edit those final selections you choose and e-mail them to you in a few days after our session.
If there are any questions I haven’t answered, feel free to e-mail or call me. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
